Hi,
My newly bought X-Rite ColorMunki Display refused to work with argyll
(with the message in the title). It took me some time to find the
solution, so I'll post it here to help other people googling for it like
me.
The solution was very simple indeed: upgrade Argyll (I was using 1.5.1
from Debian stable, upgrading to 1.6.3 fixed it).
It's explained here:
http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.graphics.argyllcms/12349
"yes, the B series of i1d3 appear to have broken the checksum completely
- the (unreleased) V1.6.3 code abandons checking it now."
Details about the problem:
$ dispcal foo
dispcal: Error - new_disprd() failed with 'Instrument Access Failed'
$ spotread
Instrument initialisation failed with 'Hardware Failure' (External EEPRrom checksum doesn't match)!
Regards,
