Confirming x-rite i1io supported

I have found a lot of things mentioning argyllcms and i1io but just wanted
to confirm it doesn't have any issues with being used with argyll before
buying. Obviously it just uses the i1pro2 but I wasn't sure for the
driving the actual patch reading. We are trying to get into more automated
print profiling and it seems to be the best way I can figure.

Hi,
I'm not sure where you have found such mentions - the supported
devices are listed here <http://www.argyllcms.com/doc/instruments.html>,
and the i1io is NOT listed, because it is NOT currently supported.

Thank you! Sorry about that, as the i1pro2 was supported I figured it
might not be listed as it primarily just uses that device. I found some
references with people who use argyllcms and the i2io along with obviously
http://www.argyllcms.com/doc2/i0mod.html but no direct answers on if it
worked or not (on the mailing list or otherwise). I did find references
to using i1iSis by converting through an intermediate program in the
process to have argyllcms use that. I am curious if people who use the
automated scanners have preferred software they are using with them (or
intermediate to use them with argyll).

Hello mitch and list,
Under Windows and Mac OSX you can use the X-Rite softwares like e.g.
the free X-Rite colorport to measure with the i2io und save the
measured data as txt / CGATS file.

(Havn´t tested it by myself, but should work...)

Yes, this should work, using txt2ti3. You are stuck with
test charts created using colorport though, since I
haven't attempted to write a tool to convert .ti2 files
to the X-Rite test chart format.

Thanks, given the fact it seems the compatibility should be fairly similar
between the io and the isis I may see if I can go with a 3rd party
calibrated isis instead due to the better readability, the io was appealing
due to the fact I (incorrectly) thought it might have native argyllcms
support. The ISIS processes I had seen posted previously being much the
same.

Thanks as always for such a great product and work Graeme, I had helped a
friend (who sadly now moved away) with your IO table mod.

I'm shocked that anyone else has attempted it :-)

Yes we either didn't find it or it was before the 3d template was out:) we
ended up needing some hot glue but with the dremel it was certainly far
more helpful than had he just gone about it on his own.

For anyone interested, this
