Hi, I just received a new NEC SpectraSensor Pro (OEM i1d3) today. This is
listed as being supported since version 1.3.6 changelog, however, I can't
get mine to work. I'm wondering if the sensor has been updated and that's
why. It is listed as:
x-rite NEC MDSVSENSOR3
Part No. EODIS3-DCNE
Rev. B-01
The drive shows up in Windows 7 Ultimate x64 as a generic "USB Input
Device" and works fine with NEC's SpectraViewII software for calibrating my
NEC monitors. However, I am also trying to use it with HCFR to calibrate
my projector, and this is where I run into trouble.
Using Argyll 1.6.2, running the command:
spotread.exe -v
I get the output:
Connecting to the instrument ..
Instrument initialisation failed with 'Hardware Failure' (External EEPRrom
checksum doesn't match)!
I notices the 1.6.2 changelog says:
"Changed i1d3 driver to be more forgiving of EEProm checksum calculation,
so that it works with the latest release "A-02" rev. i1 display pro"
and my sensor lists rev. B-01.
I am a software developer by trade, and willing to help debug and get this
meter working.
Thanks.
