Dispcal Version 1.6.3 fails with DTP 94 on Mac OS X 10.8.5 and 10.7.5

I am trying to get Dispcal to run in Argyll CMS Version 1.6.3 on a Mac Mini (mid 2011) and a Mac Book Air (2012). I get the error, "new_disprd() failed with 'Instrument access failed' " on both machines running OS X 10.8.5 or 10.7.5 using two different DTP 94 instruments.

I have an old copy of Argyll CMS 1.3.5. Dispcal from that version runs without problem with either DTP 94 instrument on both machines under either OS.

The error/success is constant using either DispcalGUI or by running Dispcal from the command line. I am sure I changed the OS X path variable correctly when switching between 1.6.3 and 1.3.5 to be sure I was using the respective Argyll binaries.

Any suggestions?

Hi,
does it fail every time, or just now and again ? (You probably have
to unplug and re-plug after a failure).

Can you send me a -D8 log output when it fails (ie.

spotread -D8 2> log.txt

and mail it to _me_, not the list).
